Sucheta Bhattacharya (Hindustani Vocal)

The rendition was very good. She has a very lifting and powerful voice. Overall, a good performance.- Sonali Biswas

Sucheta’s slow exploration of the raag was of a high level with depth and feeling and her fast taans were complex and her mastery. The program ended with a soulful bhajan. The performance on the whole was of a high level and soul-stirring. –Shervari Jayaram

Jaya Roy Choudhury (Kathak)

Jaya’s invocatory item on Devi was a wonderful start to the performance. She had excellent footwork with graceful movements. A wonderful thumri with Anjum. –Charangirdhar Chand

Audience could not stop clapping after Jaya’s every tukada, tatakar and gat showing that she had the capacity to produce “Rasa”. She proved the verse from Natyashastra and Natyakranaha which describes the dancer’s stage presentation. She has brought pride to SIFAS and her Guru, Anjum. In all, a heart-stealing performance by Jaya. –Minal Merai.
